Match 3 Games in Latin America: A Q1 2021 Performance Overview on Android

The first quarter of 2021 has been eventful for the Match 3 gaming category on the Android platform in Latin America. Sensor Tower's data offers us a glimpse into the performance of the top contenders in this addictive genre. Here's how they fared.

Homescapes started the quarter with downloads hovering around 590K and peaked at 740K in early February, before ending March at around 440K. Weekly active users saw a rise from approximately 3.1M to 3.7M by mid-March, then slightly dipped to 3.4M.

The ever-popular Candy Crush Saga saw its downloads peak at 788K in mid-January, gradually decreasing to 383K by the end of March. The weekly active users remained fairly stable, starting at around 6M and experiencing a slight decrease to 5.8M over the quarter.

Higgs Studio's Tile Connect - Matching Games witnessed an impressive spike in downloads, reaching over 1M in the second week of January, but this figure contracted to 395K by the end of March. Active users peaked at 1.35M in January and settled at around 896K by the end of Q1.

Playrix's Gardenscapes showed a more consistent performance in downloads, maintaining a range between 540K and 320K throughout the quarter. The weekly active users showed a slight decrease, from 4.1M at the start of the quarter to 3.7M at its close.

Finally, Project Makeover from Magic Tavern, Inc., experienced its highest downloads at the start of the quarter with 901K, which then fell to 277K by March's end. Weekly active users saw a peak of 1.38M in January before leveling out to 1.24M.
